First DuPont Cyrel Fast system installed in Bangladesh

DuPont Packaging Graphics has signed an agreement with Padma Group for the purchase of a Cyrel Fast digital imaging system for in-house plate-making in Bangladesh. It is the first installation of a Cyrel Fast solventless thermal plate-processing workflow in the country.

‘Now we are in a position to make high-quality plates in-house, quickly, which increases our productivity,’ said Mainul Haq Khan, managing director of Padma. ‘The commitment to reducing our environmental footprint also is what we are pursuing, even if it means a small extra premium. That premium is more than offset by the advantages of thermal plate-processing.’

The DuPont Cyrel Fast work flow enables Padma to eliminate the solvent washout and drying steps, leaving behind nothing to clean up once the plate is done and on the press. Since it is a solventless system, Padma does not have to invest in a solvent-recovery system.

‘DuPont and Padma are confident that the Cyrel Fast system will help them meet their quality and productivity needs. It offers a significantly preferred solution from an environmental standpoint as well as a substantial savings since the solvent recovery system is not necessary,’ said Prasenjit Das, marketing specialist, DuPont India.

Founded in Bangladesh in 1987, the Padma Group of Companies started with the manufacture of aluminum Pilfer Proof Cap (PP Cap) for pharmaceutical, food and beverage industries. Within a decade it diversified its range of products by manufacturing ampoules, vials, vial seals, aluminum collapsible tubes and plastic laminated tubes.
