Label Day Qingdao concludes

Event highlights featured keynote presentations covering lean management, new media marketing and global business expansion.

Labels & Labeling held its Label Day event in Qingdao, Shandong Province, on August 14, drawing over 200 attendees.

Focusing on cutting-edge topics and key pain points faced by converters, the forum offered in-depth analysis of industry trends and business turnaround strategies in the current macroeconomic backdrop, helping converters unlock new opportunities for high-quality growth.

Representatives from local industry associations in Shandong province graced the event, including Qingdao Packaging Federation, Yantai Printing & Packaging Association and Weihai Printing & Packaging Industry Association.

Delivering opening remarks, Song Yuanlong, secretary general of Qingdao Packaging Federation, extended a warm welcome to all attendees. He noted that Qingdao is one of China’s earliest areas of brands, home to globally renowned enterprises including Haier, Hisense, Aucma and Tsingtao Brewery. Qingdao’s packaging industry boasts an early start and solid foundation. But the industry has now entered an era of the stock market, characterized by oversupply and intensifying internal rivalry. ‘This forum addresses the urgent demand for transformation and development among local enterprises. We hope this forum will enable local converters to gain first hand solutions to cutting edge technologies in the industry. Furthermore, we expect this forum to serve as a new bridge connecting local enterprises with the global industrial chain,’ Yuanlong added.

Label Day

Kevin Liu, China group director of Loupe, extended a welcome to attendees on behalf of the organizer. He stated: ‘It has been five years since we last hosted Label Day in Qingdao. During our pre-event market visits, we have witnessed remarkable transformation among local converters. Some new players have entered the market, while some established businesses have achieved substantial scale expansion. Driven by industrial value chain restructuring and rising raw material costs, competition has intensified significantly. Converter management teams face urgent pressure to pursue transformation — this underpins the core rationale behind this event.’

Event highlights featured keynote presentations covering lean management, new media marketing and global business expansion. Parallel technical sessions addressed key industry trends such as digital printing, hybrid workflows, flexographic printing and digital embellishment solutions, delivered by HP, Durst, Weigang, Pulisi, Hongsheng, Label Source & Hanlabel and SAPA/DMS.

Two panel discussions delved into opportunities within global market expansion and new media lead generation. Experts, converters and supply chain suppliers shared hands-on operational experience, delivering diverse perspectives and fresh strategies for practitioners seeking new business opportunities.

The day after the forum, delegates took part in a factory tour of Molia Packaging (Qingdao). The facility is a benchmark high-end flexible packaging R&D and manufacturing specialist with a core focus on export-oriented business.

This event represented the second stop of Label Day across China and served as a pre-show warm up for Loupe South China, taking place December 2-4 in Shenzhen.
