Dura-ID Solutions has continued its long-term partnership with Mark Andy by installing two new Evolution E5 presses, citing the equipment's reliability for printing on challenging substrates used in harsh environments.

The UK-based company, which manufactures durable labels, tags, wristbands, and badges, operates across seven sites throughout the UK, employing 115 staff and generating approximately 20 million GBP in annual sales. The business supplies various industry sectors, including chemical, construction, food retail, manufacturing, metals and engineering.

'We choose Mark Andy because they are trustworthy performers across a variety of substrates, some of which are extremely demanding,' said Shaun Higgins, managing director of Dura-ID Solutions. The company processes materials designed to withstand temperatures of 1,000 deg C or well below freezing.

Dura-ID's printing operations are based in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, and Paignton, Devon, with additional production sites in Durham, Mansfield, Cambridge, Hickstead and Cullompton, totaling 100,000 sqft of manufacturing space. The Paignton facility houses Mark Andy 2200 presses and one E5, while Barnsley operates the second E5 and a Performance Series P5 installed in 2011.

The new E5 presses have reduced setup times and waste for the company's more than 5,000 customers, many of whom require short-run lengths. 'The E5s have reduced set-up times and waste to allow us to deliver great value to our existing customers and be competitive enough to attract new ones,' said Higgins.

The company exports to more than 30 countries and plans to upgrade its older flexographic lines within the next three to five years as part of its ongoing investment policy.

'With the proven track record of our Mark Andy Evolution flexo presses, I am looking forward to working closely with Dura-ID to develop and extend our ongoing partnership,' said Antony Cotton, UK and Ireland sales manager at Mark Andy.
