RCM plans new facility after 16 years with Weigang

Portuguese converter expands premium label capabilities through long-term press investment.

Portuguese label converter RCM has highlighted the impact of a 16-year partnership with Weigang, which has supported its growth into premium label applications including wine labels requiring high-quality printing and advanced finishing.

Founded more than 38 years ago and operating around 100 employees across multiple offset and flexo presses, RCM began its relationship with Weigang following a visit by founder Rodrigo Moça to the manufacturer's facility in China in 2009.

'At the time, I was curious to understand how Weigang operated. What I found was a well-organized company with strong engineering and production capabilities,' said Moça.

Since installing its first Weigang press, RCM has progressively adopted inline processes, consolidating printing and finishing into single production runs. Production supervisor Cesar Gonçalves Silva noted that the shift has improved both productivity and profitability by eliminating the need for separate machines to complete additional processes.

RCM is currently preparing to expand its production capacity with a new facility, reflecting continued investment in advanced label production.
