UK-based converter B S Labels Limited has invested in Dantex’s flagship PicoJet 1200 Hybrid press to meet increasing demand for high-impact labels and faster turnaround times.
Featuring an integrated flexo station, semi-rotary die-cutting and Dantex’s advanced full gamut ink set - CMYK plus white, green, orange and violet - the PicoJet 1200 Hybrid was selected by B S Labels to meet increasing demand for high-impact labels and faster turnaround times.
‘We’ve been printing digital for 12 years, but the PicoJet represents a step-change in capability,’ said Dan Pole, studio and digital print manager at B S Labels. ‘We looked at several competitor presses, but the combination of extended gamut, outstanding white ink and the fact that it’s made in Britain gave Dantex the clear edge. The company’s long-standing reputation for quality and service only reinforced our decision.’
B S Labels has enjoyed a long relationship with Dantex, previously using the company’s plate materials and processing equipment. That history played a crucial role in its decision to transition to the PicoJet platform.
‘The Dantex team couldn’t have been more accommodating. Their knowledge of digital inkjet is evident and they guided us through every stage of the process,’ added Pole. ‘In fact, this was the smoothest install I’ve ever been part of, being completely seamless from start to finish.’
The PicoJet’s extended colour gamut enables B S Labels to shift more flexographic work to digital while maintaining Pantone-level colour accuracy. Additionally, features such as in-line finishing and a 100 percent inspection system increase efficiency, reduce waste, and open up new market opportunities.
‘This installation is not just about increasing our capacity, it’s about futureproofing our business with a digital press that can genuinely deliver on quality, speed and versatility,’ commented Pole. ‘It also marks a significant milestone in what has always been a strong and trusted partnership with Dantex.’
Richard Dimmock, international sales manager at Dantex, added: ‘We’re delighted to see B S Labels take this next step with the PicoJet 1200 Hybrid. It is a forward-thinking business with high standards and this installation is a perfect match for its ambitions. The hybrid model offers the flexibility and performance modern converters need, and we’re proud that our British-built technology is continuing to set the standard for digital inkjet in this sector.’
According to Dantex, this investment reflects a growing trend among experienced label producers to choose British-built, high-performance digital technologies that combine speed, colour vibrancy and in-line efficiency.
