Dongguan Honggan Packaging installs HP Indigo 200K
This marks HP's 100th installation of its flexible packaging press in the Asia Pacific region.

Dongguan Honggan Packaging, one of the leading packaging converters in China, has installed an HP Indigo 200K digital press at its facility in Dongguan. Installed in April this year, Dongguan Honggan joins a growing number of converters in Southern China adopting HP Indigo technology and marks the 100th HP Indigo flexible packaging press installation in the APAC region.
The press is already reshaping the company’s production floor by reducing delivery time from seven days to just two days. This enables Dongguan Honggan to deliver variable design printing and customizable packaging while reducing inventory waste by printing only what is needed.
Focusing on short-run, multi-SKU production for products such as FMCG, agriculture goods and pet food, Dongguan Honggan installed the HP Indigo 200K to transform its business model. The HP Indigo 200K provides unmatched flexibility and speed, empowering the company to reduce waste, cut lead times and offer precise, error-free printing.
The investment in the HP Indigo 200K is also a step forward in Dongguan Honggan's long-term goal of supporting ‘zero inventory’ strategies for brands, especially small and medium enterprises (SMEs) seeking to embed agile packaging solutions into production floors.
'Our vision for installing a new digital press was to transform our business goal from one focused on serving large customers to one focused on supporting SME customers growth. The HP Indigo 200 K's digital printing technology helps us transform from a packaging producer to a business that delivers a full digital experience for our customers,' said Weifeng Chen, founder and general manager of Dongguan Honggan.
Arnon Goldman, HP general manager, Asia Pacific, said, 'The 100th HP Indigo flexible packaging press installation in the APJ region marks a significant milestone in our journey towards revolutionizing the flexible packaging industry. Dongguan Honggan's adoption of the HP Indigo 200K Digital Press is a testament to our commitment to empowering converters with cutting-edge technology that meets the growing demands for agility, sustainability, and personalization. This achievement showcases our leadership in digital print and underscores our dedication to transforming business models by enabling customers to produce faster, more efficient and customizable packaging.'
With sustainability at the core of its business, Dongguan Honggan will join the HP Planet Partner Recycling Program and pursue HP-certified mono-materials recyclable substrates. The company also adopts HP PrintOS and HP Indigo Spot Master tools for automated, high-precision production and color matching. RFID printing training and smart packaging development (such as one package-one QR code for security and traceability) are also on the roadmap.
Dongguan Honggan has outlined an ambitious digital transformation roadmap. In the next 6 to 12 months, the company will implement HP Smart Stream to automate its workflow from order to production.
Over the next three years, the company plans to invest in a smart packaging lab focusing on RFID printing and digital twin quality assurance systems. It will also join HP's Sustainable Printing Alliance to access certified recyclable material databases. As the digital transformation of packaging continues, Dongguan Honggan plans to expand its digital print capabilities into Southeast Asia and Eastern Europe in the next three to five years.
