Durst marks 90 years with AI launch
Italian manufacturer unveils Kyveris production intelligence platform at milestone anniversary.
Durst Group has marked its 90th anniversary with the announcement of Kyveris, an AI-powered production intelligence platform designed to unify files, machines, software, data and AI into a single autonomous system for digital printing and additive manufacturing.
Founded in 1936 by two brothers in a small workshop in Brixen, South Tyrol, Durst has grown from a photo equipment maker into a globally operating manufacturer of industrial digital printing and additive manufacturing systems. The company says Kyveris™ represents the next step in that evolution, moving beyond precision hardware toward fully networked, self-optimizing production environments.
The platform is built on data gathered from thousands of production systems installed worldwide, using that knowledge base to continuously learn, reduce waste and optimize performance. Durst describes its long-term vision as the 'lights-out factory' — a production environment that is automated, transparent, reproducible and increasingly autonomous.
‘Durst has never been a manager of the status quo. We have always been a creator of the next standard. After 90 years of precision engineering, we are taking the next logical step: production intelligence for digital printing and additive manufacturing. We no longer think of production as a machine or a workflow, but as an intelligent, continuously learning system,’ said Christoph Gamper, CEO and co-owner of Durst Group. ‘With Kyveris, we are defining the next evolutionary stage of digital production technology.’
Durst will showcase Kyveris for the first time at Fespa 2026 and at the Durst Next Technology Festival. Further details on the platform's data architecture, AI integration and strategic roadmap are expected in the coming months.
