Cerm launches O2 MIS and Lexis AI agent

Cerm has launched two new products at Loupe Americas 2026: O2, a cloud-native MIS platform for label, flexible packaging and folding carton converters, and Lexis, an AI agent that automatically converts incoming customer order emails into validated Cerm sales orders.

O2 is built on cloud-native technology and draws on more than 40 years of Cerm's label and packaging workflow expertise, initially targeting small and medium-sized converters seeking digitalization and automation without the complexity of a full enterprise MIS implementation. The platform uses an API-first approach and will benefit from Cerm's established partner ecosystem, including Esko, Hybrid Software, ABG and Screen. Cerm will add flexible packaging and folding carton functionality in a second phase. The company acquired cloud development specialist Omikai in 2025 to accelerate the platform's development.

Lexis, which is among the three products nominated for the L&L Global Awards Innovation Award at Loupe Americas, has already been rolled out to 20 customers since its introduction at the Cerm User Group Day in Paris and Dallas earlier in 2026. The tool reads incoming order emails and attachments, extracts purchase order numbers, products, quantities and delivery information, matches the content against live MIS data in real time and prepares a sales order for a staff member to review and confirm before creation. Onpack, an early adopter, has processed 260 orders covering more than 3,500 products through Lexis, with 80 percent of the company's business now running through the system.

'For our larger orders, what used to take two to three hours to key in by hand now takes under an hour with Lexis,' said Michael Nankervis, managing director at Onpack. 'Manual entry also means constantly double-checking your own work. That risk of human error just isn't part of the process anymore.'

Alongside O2 and Lexis, Cerm demonstrates new quality management functionality replacing paper-based documentation with digital checklists, extended traceability capabilities creating a digital production history record across narrow web labels, sheet-fed offset, wet glue, RFID labels and folding carton, the latest generation of Cerm Tempo rule-based scheduler and Smart BI Enterprise, the new version of Cerm's business intelligence tool with a new architecture allowing customers to combine the Smart BI data model with external data sources.

Lexis will go live worldwide as part of the Cerm Extensions portfolio on September 15.
