FTA names new LIFT leadership team

The association appoints chair and vice chair for the young professionals group.

The Flexographic Technical Association has appointed Becky Bunch of Xsys as chair and Brent Zurcher of MicroDynamics as vice chair of its Leaders Inspiring Flexo's Tomorrow (LIFT) Committee.

'For the past several years, many in the flexographic industry have struggled to find and keep good employees. It is our hope that the establishment of LIFT will help FTA attract and retain young flexographers by providing them with a peer group and resources to foster interest in the industry and career development,' explained Laura Wright, FTA chair. 'We are thrilled to be receiving so much positive feedback about this group as it begins to take shape.'

Bunch expressed enthusiasm about her new role. 'I'm honored and excited to step into the role of LIFT chair, leading a community dedicated to empowering the next generation of flexographic leaders. This industry has been such a meaningful part of my career and my life, and I'm driven to help others discover the same sense of purpose, opportunity and pride it has given me,' she commented.

The new chair outlined her vision for the committee's evolution. 'I see LIFT evolving into an even more active, engaged, empowering and forward-thinking community where emerging leaders can connect with industry veterans, exchange ideas, gain meaningful skills and grow their careers, while actively contributing to the future of flexo.'

Zurcher highlighted the importance of industry networking in his appointment. 'Over the last few years, being connected to a network of industry peers at FTA has completely changed my perspective and my dedication to this industry,' he noted. 'I've found a growing passion about being able to enable newcomers to the industry to experience the benefits of community right out of the gate.'

The vice chair emphasized LIFT's role in developing future talent. 'As our industry looks to grow and recruit the next generation and develop their passion for printing in the long term, LIFT has a unique opportunity and responsibility to build a thriving community of young professionals that are committed to growing their own careers, as well as a successful industry,' Zurcher added.
