Domino partners on TIJ cartridge recycling
Circular Planet program gives UK, Benelux and Germany customers a collection service.
Domino Printing Sciences has partnered with Close the Loop to give its thermal inkjet customers access to Circular Planet, a European cartridge recycling program covering the UK, Benelux and Germany.
Through the program, customers can return non-hazardous TIJ cartridges via an established collection service. Cartridges are transported to a recycling facility in Belgium where they are separated, cleaned and processed into extruded pipes and other plastic products, with any non-recyclable components recovered through energy-from-waste processes.
'We know our customers are looking for practical ways to reduce waste across their operations, including what happens to their empty printer cartridges,' said Sara Kolber, supply chain and logistics coordinator at Domino Printing Sciences. 'By partnering with Close the Loop, we're able to offer an established recycling program that's easy to use and simple to integrate into existing operations.'
'Domino's participation reinforces the strength of a truly collaborative, multi-brand approach to closing the loop on print consumables,' added An Magerman, managing director at Close the Loop. 'Their commitment is another important step in scaling Circular Planet across Europe.'
