Lecta sets new emissions reduction targets for 2030

Using its calculated carbon footprint, Lecta has developed an investment plan to reach these ambitious decarbonization and energy efficiency goals.

Lecta has updated its absolute GHG emissions reduction targets by setting new targets for 2030 validated by the SBTI; namely, 53 percent for Scopes 1 and 2, and 25 percent for Scope 3, with respect to the baseline year 2021.

As part of its firm commitment to sustainability, Lecta actively promotes investments and projects to bolster the transition to decarbonization and help mitigate the global warming of our planet.

This long-standing commitment was reinforced at the end of 2024, when the SBTi (Science Based Targets Initiative) validated Lecta’s absolute targets for the reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions after a stringent process of verification and approval. The SBTi is a climate action body that helps organizations to set their emissions reduction targets based on science, ensuring that they are in line with the requirements to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees C.

This strategy underscores the company’s commitment to transitioning to a resilient and low- emissions economy based on scientific principles. Using its calculated carbon footprint, Lecta has developed an investment plan to reach these ambitious decarbonization and energy efficiency goals and play its part in creating a more sustainable world.
