3C relieves headache for aspirin manufacturer

3C, the independent packaging solutions company based in Clayton, NC, has recently completed a carton color matching and transition process for a major aspirin manufacturer.

The job came after the aspirin company made a strategic decision to evolve its approach to carton matching by adopting a process in which color is specified by numbers.  The goal was to reach consistency across its full product range and apply the same level of precise carton measurement that occurs for dimensions, caliper etc.

The manufacturer chose 3C as its packaging partner because it has the most modern equipment in the industry, with cGMP facilities as well as state-of-the-art inspection and process control machinery.  In addition, 3C is one of the only companies of its kind to incorporate Spectrophotometric color control into its presses and processes.

3C was able to match the customer’s targets for color approval and maintain it within established limits throughout each run. Today, the aspirin company’s full line of products is packaged by 3C, and with the color established, verification is no longer required as part of the inspection process, which saves time and money.
