ABG supplies Vectra rewinder to Pricemarc-it in Australia
AB Graphic International has confirmed the supply of a Vectra ECTR 330, four spindle, turret rewinder to Melbourne, Australia-based Pricemarc-it Pty. The line is a 330 mm (13 inch) web width turret system designed to produce small rolls of labels at high speeds to enable diameters of 150 mm (6 inch) down to 30 mm (1 inch) to be achieved. Features include a servo driven closed loop tension control, hot melt core and tail gluing, constant mandrel end support for small diameter mandrels down to 12 mm (1/2 inch), touch screen controls and job save facilities for up to 500 jobs. The system can process both plain and printed rolls with a diameter of up to 350 mm (13 inches).
Mark Hyde, product manager at AB Graphic International Ltd commented: ‘Our contact with Pricemarc-it Products started at the Pacprint, Melbourne exhibition last year. Until then they had been unsuccessful in realizing a solution for producing small diameter rolls with the degree of automation they required and provided us with samples to run trials with. We subsequently carried out successful trials together with Curries Pty., our newly appointed distributor for Australia and were able to provide a solution. The degree of automation provided by the Vectra will mean that certain jobs can now be sourced in Australia rather than imported.’
Pricemarc-it Products manufacturer plain or printed self-adhesive labels in both roll and sheet format. In addition to labels, the company is a leading supplier of hand labeling products with an extensive range of pricing guns, date coders and label applicators serving all of Australia. Rodney Boyle, MD commented: ‘The performance of the Vectra ECTR330 during trials closely met our requirements and we intend using the machine to rewind a range of various label sizes. We chose the Vectra because of its ability to successfully rewind narrow web labels at high speed and hope to significantly increase our rewinding efficiency as a result.’
Hyde concluded: ‘Our commitment to the Australian market is reflected in the appointment of Curries as our distributor for the region who will in turn, shortly be appointing a new product manager to support local equipment sales.’
