AIM Announces the Datastrip2D Symbology as a New Work Item
AIM, the Association for Automatic Identification and Data Capture Technologies, has approved the Datastrip2D symbology as a new work item for development into an AIM International Technical Standard.
Datastrip2D is a variable-size, variable-density two-dimensional bar code symbology offering very high data capacity. The symbology has a unique combination of matrix density and variable rectangular aspect ratio. Datastrip2D handles large data capacity in a single symbol - typically 2800 bytes and above.
Standardization of Datastrip2D will be done by the AIM Technical Symbology Committee (TSC). The TSC is comprised of technical experts from AIM member companies such as Denso, HHP, Intermec, Paxar, Symbol Technologies, and Zebra Technologies.
