Alticor purchases Omet 8 color Varyflex press

Matik North America has announced the sale of an Omet 20” Varyflex press to Access Business Group the production arm of Alticor.

Matik is the North American distributor of Omet printing presses and tissues machines. The Varyflex press will be used to produce folding cartons. The presses gearless-shaftless sleeve system allows printing formats from 12" to 33" with infinite print repeats. Varyflex features rapid change of anilox rolls and ink cassette, with the advantage of preparing jobs off-line, dual independent servo motors on each print station, the E-Z sleeve change system, the automatic pre-register and the innovative integrated digital register control.

‘Our project committee investigated available machines very thoroughly,’ stated Jean Pierre Penhoat, senior mechanical engineer, Paper Products, ABG. ‘We were very impressed with the Varyflex’s quick changeover sleeve system, as well as the gearless servo design. Of special concern to us was the press' hot air drying capability, but that more than surpassed our test parameters. Add to that what we felt was the robust design and the choice for us was clear, it was Omet.’
