3C! Packaging has hired industry veteran Russell Hill as its new technical innovations manager.

3C! Packaging is an independent privately-owned pharmaceutical packaging specialist which designs and manufactures custom folding cartons, printed literature, inserts/outserts, labels and unit dose compliant packaging

Hill has more than two decades of experience in packaging and printing, with particular focuses on the prescription pharmaceuticals, over-the-counter healthcare and cosmetic sectors. He has experience in letterpress, screen, leaf stamping, offset and flexographic printing.

Prior to joining 3C! Packaging, Hill had two spells with Illinois-based package printing firm HS Crocker, as well as working for Diagraph and Cortegra Group.

As technical innovations manager, Hill will be responsible both for developing new products and identifying additional avenues for existing lines at 3C! Packaging.

The appointment of Hill is the latest move in 3C! Packaging’s growth strategy. Earlier this year, the company expanded its suite of services by introducing state-of-the-art label manufacturing equipment at its Clayton, North Carolina headquarters. The new equipment includes a 13in FB-3300, six-color, servo-driven flexo press from Nilpeter, as well as a roll inspection mapping system from Label Vision Systems and a CEI 130 EX slitter rewinder from Converting Equipment International.

Joe Elphick, president and chief executive officer of 3C! Packaging, said: ‘As we simultaneously expand market share for our core set of products and services while reaching into new areas, we need industry veterans to help guide our growth – so that we grow steadily yet responsibly.

‘Quite literally, Russell is managing our innovation, both in terms of existing products and those in the development stages.’
