DataLase has appointed Nick Crossley to the financial controller position

Crossley, a chartered accountant, has worked at all levels of company finance in a wide variety of industries, including retail, manufacturing, hospitality, property investment, sports merchandising, and the technology sector. Managing a team of three, he will take responsibility for the complete finance function for DataLase, reporting the monthly results to the board, preparing budgets and forecasts, and ensuring that the company remains in a strong financial position for any future strategies that the board may be considering.

‘From the outset, I’ve been impressed with the ethos here at DataLase. The company is wholly people-focused, so it has been easy to fit in and make an immediate contribution,’ commented Crossley on his new appointment. ‘Knowing that I was joining the company following the MBO was a perfect scenario, as it meant that my work was crucial in helping the new owners achieve their immediate and priority objectives for the business. Since then, I’ve been involved in a number of ad-hoc projects, including making improvements to the reporting of the finance team to the board by ensuring they have robust and timely information for decision-making purposes and no surprises.’

‘Nick joined us at a pivotal and exciting time for the business,’ added Lewis. ‘His extensive financial and international experience at a senior level will be extremely valuable going forward as DataLase looks to develop and execute its long-term growth strategy.’

Crossley has outside interests in traveling, clay-pigeon shooting, and countryside walks.
