Fujifilm Hunt Chemicals USA has announced organizational changes in the company regarding CodeStream and its business development group.

Mike Cagle, director of technical services, has assumed responsibility for the CodeStream laser markable coating business. Reporting to him is the sales and marketing group of Steven Coomber, marketing manager; Robert Marusa, commercial sales manager, and Brad Phillips, sales development manager.

Having Cagle directing the growth of CodeStream allows Scott Clouston, VP and general manager of business development, to focus his efforts on new commercial opportunities. Clouston is responsible for bringing CodeStream from its inception to today’s commercialized product.

‘CodeStream has moved from the development stage to a fully marketable product line, with a growing customer base,’ said Mike Cagle. ‘We are adjusting our structure to meet the demands of converters and brand owners as we bring CodeStream to the next level.’

Fujifilm developed CodeStream as an alternative to current technologies for marking variable data on packaging and labels. The translucent coating, which is applied by flexo during the printing process, creates a high density mark for codes and data of all types when activated by a low power laser.
