Screen Europe appoints new president

Screen Europe has appointed Akihiro Fujii as its new president, taking over from Takanori Kakita who has been promoted to the position of president of the Graphic Arts Company and will now be based at the head office in Kyoto, Japan.

Kakita has been at the helm in Amstelveen, Netherlands for the last four years. During that time, the company experienced growth in all areas of its business, but particularly in the supply of digital inkjet equipment.

The new President, Fujii, has been with Screen in Japan for almost 30 years. He has previously held senior positions in Screen Australia and Screen America, and most recently was deputy general manager of the business management division in the Screen Graphic Arts Company at the Kyoto head office.

Fujii said: ‘It is a pleasure to take up this role, and to have the opportunity to work with the team here in Europe. In particular, I am keen to meet new and existing Screen customers and to develop strong partnerships beneficial to everyone. Digital inkjet has come of age, and Screen has a superb portfolio of products designed to meet the needs of the market sectors we serve.’
