Zanders hires three engineer trainees
German papermaker Zanders has hired three mechatronics engineer trainees, who have just completed their apprenticeship at the Bergish Gladbach plant, as a part of the company’s investment in human talent.
Thomas Doering, head of human resources at Zanders, said: ‘The hiring of the three mechatronics engineers is another sign that Zanders continues to invest in its personal future. And we remain particularly attractive to young people who are looking for an apprenticeship position because it is very likely and our clear goal that they will be hired after they have successfully completed their training.’
The area of operation of mechatronics engineers is extensive and includes setting up and assembling machines, programming of mechatronic systems, installation and testing of hardware and software, initial operation of machines including functional and safety tests.
The three new specialists will use their newly acquired skills on a daily basis when operating two large paper machines, seven Chromolux coaters (cast coaters), one standard coater, five reel slitting machines, eight sheeting machines, one small format sheeting line as well as packing lines for reels and sheets.
Zanders currently employs 378 people including 16 apprentices and is constantly looking for measurement and control technicians, production workers as well as apprentices as paper technologists, mechatronics technicians and machine and plant operators.
