ASK wins Sesames award for shielding media
ASK, a leader in contactless technology, won ‘the Best Banking/Finance/Retail’ Sesames award for a brand new range of shielding media. As a part of the Cartes show, the Sesames Awards reward unchallenged innovation for card manufacturers. They were given out by a jury made up of 34 international experts in the related markets.
ASK’s Priva’C. range ‘paves the way to an innovative offer for contactless and RFID media data protection against fraudulent RF reading’, according to a statement. Based on ASK technology of silver ink printed antenna on paper, the Priva’C. range provides a reliable, low cost and environmentally friendly shielding for contactless paper tickets, contactless smart cards, and e-ID documents such as e-passports. This brand new range answers privacy concerns for identity and contactless payment media and was developed with various form-factors to meet current and future needs.
‘The Priva’C. range answers privacy concern issues for RFID products and prevents e-passport and other e-credentials skimming. It is also a new marketing tool for banks, mass transit operators or access control badges’ issuers. As paper based media, they can be graphically personalized with artworks, contact details and any other useful information. Priva’C. products also happen to be highly cost effective due to the manufacturing process and material involved, stated Michel Leduc, solutions director at ASK. ‘We really bring to the market a user-friendly shielding device, suitable for people’s privacy protection.’
