Expert Traceability seminar announced for Labelexpo Europe 2023

A seminar on Traceability as a business opportunity for label converters has been announced for Labelexpo Europe 2023

The daily expert-led talks aim to show label converters how to implement a track and trace system at their customers’ operations. The talks will take place daily at the Automation Arena in Hall 11 from 10-10.30am.

The seminar will be presented jointly by Dr. Vlad Sljapic, group chief commercial officer, Graphimecc Group, and Kamila Kocia, market development manager atma.io at Avery Dennison, Digital Solutions.

Explains Sljapic, ‘Digital Product Passport and cloud-based product traceability is coming. With the initial deadlines looming in 2024, most brands and converters are not prepared. This seminar has been created to provide label converters with an understanding of what these terms mean and to give you a competitive advantage in providing global product traceability to brands as a service.’

Global Product Traceability is seen as a business growth opportunity for label converters. By expanding the range of services provided to brands into ‘digital twin’-ready, traceable labels and packaging, label converters can position themselves as expert support for brands, growing their businesses by filling the need gap created by the incoming legislation.

Label converters will learn about the key competencies required to start this journey, including what questions to ask about cloud-based traceability, RFID encoding, automated production systems, and the total quality of production output certification.

Adds Kocia, ‘Cloud-based product traceability can help brands to improve sustainability by reducing waste and emissions and it can also help brands to reduce fraud by ensuring the authenticity of products. Cloud-based product traceability can provide customers with peace of mind by giving the brands the visibility into the origin and journey of their products. Label printers can play a key role in helping brands to comply with regulatory requirements for product traceability, and that will be the focus of these seminars.’
