Women In Print Alliance celebrates women’s contributions to printing industry

The alliance celebrates women in the industry during Women’s History Month through its Women in Print Alliance initiatives.

Printing United Alliance has been celebrating and honoring the contributions of women in the printing industry through its latest Women in Print Alliance initiatives and planned content across Alliance media channels, including the third year of a special podcast series.

Throughout March, Women in Print Alliance continues its year-round mission of attracting, advancing and advocating for women in the print industry – while also taking a moment to reflect on past lessons from women leaders in the print community.

Follow #WomenMakingPrintHistory on LinkedIn to recognize and learn from the contribution of women to the printing industry through a month-long social media campaign on LinkedIn.

Women in Print Alliance is excited for its LinkedIn channel to serve as a platform for women leaders, educators, innovators, and rising stars to exchange dialogue and engage with their peers.

In 2024, Women in Print Alliance will offer even more ways for women in the industry to connect, including at the annual Women in Print Alliance Luncheon at Printing United Expo, held on September 11 in Las Vegas.

Also on the horizon is a new membership opportunity for individual women and for companies to deepen their commitment to, and elevate, their experiences in Women in Print Alliance.

The new, paid membership option will include a mix of virtual and in-person benefits, with programming focused on topics like career development, executive leadership, and work-life balance.

‘What’s exciting about the history of women in print is that it’s truly a “living history”,’ said Lisbeth Lyons Black, director of Women in Print Alliance. ‘There’s a genuine desire I observe daily by women up and down the career ladder and across the spectrum of the printing industry to share information, lessons, and experiences from their personal career journeys with one another.

‘There’s a sense of pride in what women have pioneered and accomplished in print – and the month of March is a wonderful time to honor those strides, while at the same time there’s a real motivation to grow the presence and impact of women throughout the industry. Women in the print community want to learn from the past – and then knock the future out of the park.’

For the third year in a row, Alliance media brand Printing Impressions will present a special podcast serieshosted by Denise M. Gustavson, editorial director of media brands for the alliance, honoring women in the printing industry. Each week, women in the industry will share their stories of triumphs and challenges, and thoughts on the future of printing.

‘I’m so thrilled to be able to host this special podcast each year highlighting the remarkable women in our industry,’ said Gustavson. ‘The third annual podcast series for Women's History Month is not just inspiring—it's a powerful reminder of the diverse talent driving innovation in printing. Each episode is a deep dive into the journeys, challenges, and triumphs of women making their mark on the industry.’
