Avery Dennison RFID, a business unit of Avery Dennison Corporation, has announced that the company is sponsoring US$500 RFID training scholarships to help mandated end users quickly and effectively implement RFID within their supply chain.

Avery Dennison RFID has partnered with OTA Training, a leading vendor-neutral RFID industry educator, to help end-users gain the confidence and technical expertise they need to successfully implement RFID, and if desired, move toward CompTIA RFID certification. The training will be held at Avery Dennison RFID’s Atlanta Technical Center (ATC).

‘Avery Dennison has taken a leadership position in supporting and growing the RFID market,’ said George Reynolds, vice president sales and marketing, Avery Dennison RFID. ‘IT professionals, warehouse managers and others within consumer packaged goods manufacturers are in the “hot seat” - expected to quickly master RFID and get results, usually in addition to their other duties. Our partnership with OTA is a testament to the end-user community that we are here to help. And our funding of the training through scholarships further demonstrates our commitment.’

Under the direction of OTA’s RFID training professionals, students will receive practical, hands-on training in the simulated ‘real-world’ environment at the ATC. Using OTA’s unique E3 Learning System students will learn skills that they can apply immediately in their RFID implementation.

As an added bonus, attendees enrolled in the Avery Dennison/OTA Training sessions will be encouraged to bring a selection of their own SKUs for live product testing and will also receive free Avery Dennison RFID tags.

The first OTA training class is scheduled for June 6 and will soon be fully booked. To register or learn more, visit http://www.otatraining.com/ or call 1 972 386 9655.
