Avery Dennison Retail Information Services has acquired Impressions (Pte) Ltd., the Sri Lanka-based producer of apparel tags and labels. The Impressions acquisition strengthens Avery Dennison RIS’ ability to help apparel manufacturing operations throughout Sri Lanka satisfy the product identification portion of their quick response and floor ready merchandise requirements.
In 2004, Sri Lanka apparel vendors exported $2.6 billion worth of garments to US and European markets. The companies producing these garments often face challenging demands for just-in-time product deliveries and for shipments that are supplied complete with all necessary accessories, including product identification.
Incorporated in 1991 and with a staff of 150, Impressions is one of the longest established and best known apparel tag and label manufacturers in the country. The ISO 9001-certified organization is equipped to manufacture brand enhancing woven and printed fabric labels and to produce product identification tags and labels on offset and screen presses.
Avery Dennison RIS provides leather patches, RFID tags and printers, fastener products, security devices and expert consulting services for product identification compliance.
