Parkside develops festive resealable pack for Compleat Food Group

Parkside has developed resealable pack Compleat Food Group for its mini sausage rolls for a sustainable festive season.

The pack, developed for British brand Wall’s, consists of a RPET tray weld sealed with a matching PET lidding film. Parkside used its trademark ParkScribe laser system to score an integral peel-and-reseal opening into the film, which is printed in a festive red and gold design for a traditional yet eye-catching look on-shelf.

Staci Bye, business unit manager at Parkside, said: ‘Christmas is a time of year when our houses are full of food and packaging. But how much of that food goes wasted? We’re incredibly proud that our solution helps consumers address this important issue this Christmas.

‘The resealable lid helps keep the sausage rolls mouth-wateringly fresh for longer, helping consumers to reduce food waste and avoid use of cling films to wrap the pack, while at the same time offering a much more convenient opening experience.’

Alexandra Maudsley, group artwork and project manager at the Compleat Food Group, added: ‘I want to thank Parkside for their continued collaboration, on behalf of our whole Brand team. We think the film looks fantastic, and Parkside managed to turn this job around for us very quickly, so we can have the pack on shelves in plenty of time for the festive season.

‘That agility is crucial when making seasonal products, as it enables us to maximize a relatively short sales window. Luckily, we can always rely on Parkside to provide high quality products just as quickly as we need them.’

The packs, containing 50 mini sausage rolls, are on sale now at supermarket giant Tesco.
