Buckleys achieves foodgrade standard

Leading UK wet glue label printing specialist, Buckleys, has achieved the British Retail Consortium (BRC) / Institute of Packaging (IoP) Technical Standard for companies manufacturing and supplying food packaging materials for retailer branded products. The accreditation provides a common basis for the audit of companies supplying packaging materials.

This assists retailers and food manufacturers to fulfil their legal obligations and to demonstrate ‘due diligence’.

Joe Hopkins, technical manager for Buckleys, comments: ‘We already had stringent quality controls and processes in place to ensure our labels are suitable for safe food use. The BRC / IoP standard reduces the need for customer audits – this will further improve efficiency for both Buckleys and our customers.’
