CCL Label A/S, one of Europe's leading suppliers of labels to the pharmaceutical industry, has cut the first turf for its new label factory in Poland. The factory will meet the anticipated rise in demand for folding labels from the eastern European pharmaceutical industry.
The multi-million Euro factory will start production during 2005. It will cover 3,000m, with room for a doubling in size. The company will manufacture in line with the pharma industry's Good Manufacturing Practices, as do the company's other factories in Randers and Brndby, near Copenhagen. Production will include traditional labels, folding labels and a number of special labels for pharma products.

The company will produce for pharma customers in Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary and the Baltic states. According to Ole Gade, sales and marketing director of CCL Label A/S, this is a strategic move in which investments are being made in the anticipated rise in demand from the eastern European pharma industry. At the same time, existing customers will receive better service.
Construction of the Polish factory comes just a short time after the CCL Label factory in Brndby has undergone expansion and extensive refurbishment.
