China opens its house to Omet flexo cartons

Omet enjoyed a successful Open House in China recently, according to sales director Marco Calcagni, who commented: ‘We hosted the two-day event at the production facility of one of our Chinese customers who has recently installed a 10-colour Super Varyflex line.  To see the Omet in real-time production was the most convincing argument for this technology, and we were delighted to welcome converters from 50 different companies, including 20 from outside China.’

What appealed to many of the visitors, who came from converters of high-end packaging, was the capacity of the Varyflex to handle different substrates from carton to film.  Mr Calcagni added: ‘Visitors commented on how Omet’s advanced technology produced attractive and innovative products, and importantly offered security quality by holding tight register at top speed and both inserting and transferring holograms.’  This can be done in up to six lines at speeds of 100 m/min using a hologrammed foil in saver mode.
