Christchurch label printer feels full force of earthquake

Geon New Zealand executive general manager Andrew Durrans has confirmed that its label printing facility Geon Labels, based in the Christchurch suburb of Heathcote which was close to the earthquake’s epicenter, has suffered structural and stock damage. Staff have been evacuated to safety.
‘Our digital sales office on the fringe of the CBD earthquake has also been affected and we are taking a full assessment at both sites’, he is reported as saying.
Meanwhile, Christchurch-based Active Labelling has reported that its buildings were not affected and that business continues as usual, despite the traumatic effect of the tragedy on the entire city.
Print New Zealand CEO Joan Grace has indicated that printers in unaffected areas were offering their services to companies in need, and that PrintNZ was on standby to help in ‘any way possible’.
