GiDue has asked us to clarify that the Athena press it launches at Labelexpo Brussels is not a CI machine, although the design ‘follows the well proven technology used in the Central Impression flexographic wide web industry, in order to ensure high stiffness, and consistent print quality stability also at high speeds.’

The Athena is a sleeve-based, fully gearless press, with each UV flexographic print unit equipped with eight servo motors. The print cylinder, anilox roller and impression roller are independently driven, and pressure adjustments are also servo assisted. The substrate range is from 15 microns up to 600 grams board, with a speed up to 270 meters/minute. The press is equipped with GiDue’s Intelligent Register and Intelligent Screen technology.

The Athena line will be offered in four different print widths: 430 mm, 530 mm, 630 mm, and 730 mm, and in three different converting configurations for Labels, Flexible Packaging and Cartons.
