Clarifoil provides security labels for CVS

CVS, the US drugstores retail giant, has found Clarifoil security seal tape an effective means to combat pilfering for resale of vulnerable items.

The Clarifoil Integuard security seal provides evidence of the product’s origin and shows if removal of the seal or tampering with the product has been attempted.

Clarifoil Integuard seal and tape is becoming widely used for anti-theft, anti-counterfeiting and anti-tampering purposes. Made from biodegradable cellulose acetate, Integuard is transparent and does not obscure the pack design. Its uses include pharmaceutical packaging, where it shows if a pack has been opened or an attempt made.

CVS uses Integuard on retail packs to provide evidence, in cases where theft for resale is suspected, that the product originated from CVS and to identify the CVS store from which it may have been stolen.

Clarifoil commercial director Gordon Willins said: ‘CVS conducted an exhaustive search for the right product to meet their needs and settled on Integuard as the only filmic material providing the required level of unobtrusive transparency that does not detract from the pack and evidence of ownership. The seal also shows if an attempt has been made to remove it’.

Clarifoil is a producer of biodegradable cellulose acetate films for tape and labels, print lamination and carton windows. Clarifoil is supplied worldwide from its manufacturing and product development base in Derby, UK.
