UK origination house Corniche has announced the launch of a new trading arrangement with its German counterpart, H.Gries FlexoRepro.

The two companies operate similar technologies and workflow practices that will enable the transfer of business between their respective headquarters in East Yorkshire and Hamburg.

‘OpenHouse’, the on-line workflow system developed by Corniche over the past three years, allows orders to be progressed seamlessly, irrespective of the location of production stages and processes. Gries is a leader in the German market in the production of continuous flexo sleeves.

Corniche will also offer its award-winning ‘DotMatch’ flexo proofing to the benefit of both companies’ customers.

In addition to the inter-company trading, Corniche and Gries will work together in the area of technical development and innovation and it is anticipated that this will accelerate a number of development programs currently in the pipeline.

Shaun Newsome, managing director of Corniche, said: ‘We are two like-minded companies, very focused on continuously improving our service and seeking to differentiate by offering better solutions and higher quality. I am confident that we can make this work to the benefit of our customers.

‘The European brand management sector is becoming dominated by multi-nationals whose ambitions are driven by remotely located financial interests. Obviously, we need to make profit, but we will not do so by abandoning the quality principles of the service we offer. Good brands need to be offered something better than a sausage machine.’
