DataLase expands UK headquarters prior to product launches
DataLase (formerly Sherwood Technology), originator of the award winning ‘DataLase Process’, has announced the expansion of its UK headquarters in Widnes, Cheshire.
The company said in a statement: ‘The investment in the facility reflects the company’s commitment to its growth and to the launch of an exciting market-ready portfolio during 2006. The growth of the company is the result of DataLase’s phenomenal success with its revolutionary process that uses a combination of color change chemistry and low power laser light for a wide range of applications.’
The expanded Widnes facility features large new R&D and physics laboratories, which have been fully equipped to enable major future product developments. The redesigned facility now features a customer meeting area as well as a dedicated customer demo laboratory. In addition, the Widnes facility houses a new sales office capable of quickly addressing sales and technical enquiries.
DataLase has developed a number of commercial applications utilizing its unique process, and is now poised to bring several significant new fully integrated techniques to market. The company plans to launch complete market-ready solutions during 2006 for a range of product identification applications including label replacement and on-product marking.
Steve Kelly, CEO of DataLase, explained: ‘With the expansion of our UK facility, we are now fully prepared to proceed with the launch of our innovative integrated solutions and also take advantage of new and exciting opportunities in the future. Our expansion is further reinforced by the opening of a new US facility in 2006.’
