Dates set for 2007 Harper Flexographic Solutions Tour
Harper GraphicSolutions, the technical service division of global anilox supplier Harper Corporation, has announced the dates for the 2007 Harper Flexographic Solutions Tour. Once again, industry experts will join the Harper GraphicSolutions team for a series of free one-day seminars that focus on trouble-shooting pre-press and print room problem areas, and cover the latest trends to improve print quality and press efficiency.
The dates, cities and venues for this year’s tour are as follows: Dallas, Texas, February 22; Mesa, Arizona, March 15; Columbus, Ohio, March 28; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, April 11; Chicago, Illinois, May 17; Atlanta, Georgia, June 21.
‘The response to the new, solutions-focused road show last year was phenomenal,’ said Alexander James, technical graphics manager at Harper GraphicSolutions. ‘By including press-side trouble-shooting and expanding the topics beyond anilox rolls, attendance spiked, and we averaged more than 70 attendees at each stop, where it’s been closer to 45-50 people in previous years.’
A total of 506 participants attended Harper’s seven 2006 seminars, which took place throughout the US and Canada. In addition to learning new trouble-shooting information, participants toured the host school’s flexo lab during the program.
According to Mike Huey, midwest/western manager of Harper GraphicSolutions, ‘We had such a cross-section of the flexo industry attend these seminars – company owners, presidents, vice presidents, professors, pressmen, press helpers, supervisors, engineers, ink chemists and countless technical support and sales application people. Over and over again we heard long-time flexo pros comment on how much they learned from the presentations. In short, the Solutions Tour is a great win-win for attendees and everyone involved. We’re thrilled to be able to offer it to the industry.’
Sessions are designed for print managers; print supervisors; pre-press managers; graphic designers; ink, plate and pre-press suppliers; and purchasing and/or general managers. Specific seminars will vary by region, but sample topics include: troubleshooting die-cutting issues; press inputs; prepress practices to control color management; producing predictable and reproducible flexo; rotary die selection and operations; ink handling for paper and film; analog vs. digital plate operation; and how substrates affect the printing process.
There is no charge for these one-day seminars, and businesses may send an unlimited number of staff members. Timely registration is recommended due to limited seating. Lunch is offered at no charge, compliments of Harper Corporation and other sponsors.
