Apsom introduces Roland DG proofing option

Apsom Infotex will showcase Roland DG’s latest digital proofing and pack mockup systems on its stand at Labelexpo India.
The Roland DG system uses the CGS ORIS Flex Pack system to drive the manufacturer’s line of inkjet printers and printer/cutters, including the new UV-LED and metallic eco-solvent models.
At the heart of the application is CGS’ patented four-dimensional iterative color management software combined with a specially designed custom interface for the Roland VersaCamm VS series printers.
All printer features, such as multi-pass and print-and-cut, are supported, and the included Pantone color libraries enable proofing of special colors, with the possibility of defining custom colors.
ORIS Flex Pack/Web, meanwhile, offers integrated soft proofing and proof certification. A connection to the Esko Color Engine spot color library is an available option.
Roland’s latest VersaCamm VS Series of inkjet presses include an optional metallic and white ink configuration, as well as orange and green to greatly extend the Pantone color gamut. The VS printer series also includes a 'Print & Cut' function to produce adhesive labels and decals, fully supported by the software application.
CGS has developed a wide range of ORIS specialty substrates designed for packaging proofing, as well as a transfer film which serves as a mechanical primer for original stock, such as carton. An optional add-on dryer is designed to ensure uniform drying and to prevent substrates sticking together, especially when printing small repeats.
