Edale, the UK-based manufacturer of narrow web printing and converting presses, reports that it received a number of ‘positive enquiries’ during the Digital Label Summit, held in June in Barcelona, Spain. ‘The show proved to be an excellent platform for Edale to expand further into the field of digital printing,’ said the company in a statement.

Edale exhibited at the conference with its Spanish distributor, Sercoyse, and its digital printing partner, Agfa Graphics. Since 2004, Edale’s close collaboration with Agfa has resulted in the development of the Dotrix Modular, a hybrid digital printing press created with Agfa’s single pass UV inkjet printing technology combined with Edale’s web transportation, flexo printing and converting expertise.

During the Summit, Edale’s export sales director, Bernhard Grob, and Agfa’s head of sales and marketing, Jan de Vooght, were speakers on the subject of ‘Getting from print to finished product’, where they discussed new finishing options and technologies for sleeve labels and flexible packaging through to finishing and converting equipment for cartons and boxes and wine bottle top capsules.

Also during the event, Sercoyse signed a deal to become Agfa’s distributor for Spain and Portugal.

Cristina Grau of Sercoyse said: ‘We are very pleased to have signed the deal to be in partnership with Agfa Graphics. The experience that we have obtained during the years of representing Edale gives us the confidence that we can continue to be as successful with Agfa products. The great quality of products from Edale alongside their constant development in products and their close partnership with Agfa assures us that we will be ahead of this emerging market.’
