EFI to have strong presence at digital seminars during Labelexpo

EFI Jetrion's general manager Dr Kenneth Stack and two users of the Jetrion 4000 UV inkjet system will participate in seminar sessions at the Digital Label Experience hosted at Labelexpo Europe in Brussels in September.
Dr Stack, a regular speaker at events worldwide, recently gave a presentation at the TLMI annual technical conference, held in Chicago, Illinois, where he focused on the impact of UV inkjet technology on short run digital label printing. At Labelexpo, he joins Tony Heinl, executive VP of US converter Repacorp Label Products, and Rene Bruendler, director of labeling and design at pharmaceutical company B Braun in Switzerland, in appearing on the afternoon of September 24, the second day of the show.
The Digital Label Experience, making its first European outing after debuting at Labelexpo Americas last year, is an area of the exhibition dedicated to digital technology. Located in Hall 9, it hosts a series of free seminar sessions which feature a number of industry experts speaking about various aspects of digital label printing.
Rene Bruendler of B Braun, a $6 billion pharmaceutical company, will participate from 1pm-2pm in a panel session entitled 'Digital label printing and the brand owner'. Chaired by renowned label expert Mike Fairley and with representatives from Procter & Gamble and Carlsberg Group making up the panel, the discussion will focus on how brand owners and label users use, or would like to use, digitally printed labels. Bruendler will relay his company's experiences with the two Jetrion 4000s it has installed for in-house labeling.
B Braun opted for producing labels in-house when its existing suppliers could not meet its requirements for short runs of between 20 and 20,000 labels. To date, B Braun has produced a total of almost 4 million labels with its Jetrion 4000 digital label presses.
From 2pm-3pm, Ken Stack will appear on a panel dedicated to providing an update on the state of digital printing technology. Appearing alongside representatives from HP Indigo, Xeikon, EskoArtwork and others, Dr Stack will discuss EFI's new Jetrion 4830 UV inkjet system, on display at the show, and outline the advantages that UV inkjet brings to short run label printing. With a wider web width and faster linear speeds, the 4830 increases throughput by over two times compared to the Jetrion 4000.
From 3pm-4pm, Tony Heinl of Repacorp, which operates two Jetrion 4000 systems, will participate in a panel of label printers discussing their experiences with digital technology. Heinl will discuss how his company has captured market share by using technology like the 4000 to make short run printing profitable. Heinl will also discuss the establishment of Presto Labels, a subsidiary of Repacorp founded specifically to cater to short-run market demands. Presto Labels offers web-based order entry, digital finishing and at its core, dual Jetrion 4000s for label production. As well as featuring case studies, the session will answer questions about the integration of digital processes alongside conventional technology in a label plant.
