US-based VIPColor Technologies has appointed Weldon Celloplast as re-seller partner for its VP485e digital label printer in India. The company will also be responsible for sales and support of the equipment in Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Nepal and Bangladesh.

‘We are very excited at this appointment,’ said Pawandeep Sahni of Weldon Celloplast, pictured. ‘The VP485e is a fast, high quality printer and we are sure it will make the concept of full color, customized label production in-house a reality. Users will have the ability to produce their own labels exactly where and when needed and to the exact content and quantity required.’

Dr Jules Farkas of VIPColor said: ‘We are delighted to have a respected company such as Weldon Celloplast representing us. Pawandeep Sahni has carried out extensive research and found the market for short run, digital label printing in India ready for acceptance. We have great hopes that over the next few years India will represent a good part of our VP485e on demand printer business and look forward to a mutually beneficial co-operation.’

Founded by Harveer Singh in 1982 Weldon Celloplast Limited was one of the first companies in India to start local production of tapes, release papers and self-adhesive label stocks. The company recently established a separate marketing division in order to offer international consumables, equipment and accessories to narrow web label printers in India. The new division is lead by Pawandeep Singh Sahni, operations director, and son of founder Harveer Singh Sahni.
