Dow Corning to raise silicone release coating prices

Effective June 1, 2004, Dow Corning will implement a 7-10 percent price increase on its global silicone release coating product line. In a statement, Dow says productivity improvements over the last three years staved off the necessity for price increases. ‘However, due to considerable raw material cost increases and continued significant erosion in selling prices, an increase is now necessary. Escalating prices of platinum metal have driven this action, along with recent global trends in methanol, energy and silicon metal. This price increase will enable Dow Corning to continue to meet expectations for technical solutions and reliable product supply.’
