Dscoop announces third annual conference, community building project
Building on the momentum of the second annual conference held earlier this year, the Digital Solutions Cooperative (Dscoop) announced its third annual conference, set for February 21–23, 2008, at the San Diego Marriot Hotel and Marina in San Diego, California.
‘Our vision for the 2008 Dscoop annual conference is bigger and better,’ said Jack Glacken, chairman of Dscoop and president of Today’s Graphics, Inc. ‘We are paying attention to member feedback from this year’s conference and working hard to surpass their highest expectations. We are thrilled to have the support of HP and the entire customer community.’
The event is designed to further the success of the second annual conference, which attracted more than 700 attendees — double the attendance of the inaugural event. Dscoop conference attendees have access to HP executives and Indigo product specialists, and gain insight about penetrating new market segments, demonstrating the business value of their digital capabilities. Past attendees give the conference consistently high marks; 98 per cent rate their overall experience as good or excellent.
Lawrence Toet, vice president of client relations at Premier Printing Ltd., attended both of the previous conferences. ‘I found the willingness and desire for peer to peer sharing of conference attendees amazing,’ he said. ‘It is not very often that you encounter such a sense of being in this together amongst people working in the same industry. I will definitely be back again.’
In 2008, the Dscoop annual conference is partnering with the nonprofit organization, Corazn, to build homes for two impoverished families. ‘Dscoop is all about community,’ said John Rogers, founder of Dots and Pixels Inc. ‘We’re a strong network striving to grow the digital print business, and this year, we’re taking that sense of community to the next level.’ A delegation of Dscoop conference attendees will travel to in Tijuana, Mexico, on Sunday, February 25, to participate in Corazn’s build a house in a day program.
