DuPont selects alpha test site for wide FAST processor

DuPont Imaging Technologies has selected Flexicon AG as the alpha tester for its new large format Cyrel FAST plate making system. The FAST system is currently available in a 90 x 120 cm format and has been installed at 300 customer sites. The new generation FAST TD 4260 is intended for the high volume 106 x 152 cm format segment, for plate thicknesses of 1.14 to 2.84 mm.

The thermal development system processes flexo plates up to 75 per cent faster than conventional exposure/washout systems and without the use of liquid chemicals. The unexposed plate components are not washed out, but pulled off the heated plate drum using a slight amount of pressure and a special non-woven fabric.

Flexicon AG was only the second company worldwide to install the CDI laser technology, and today, with a plant capacity of 40,000 square meters, is the biggest CTP flexo plate maker in Europe.
