Having signed Rotary Technology Partnership last year to cover Thailand, where the distributor achieved the fastest-ever sale of an Edale Alpha press to EVA Enterprises, Edale has extended the representation deal to cover Indonesia.

To tie in with the expanded sales territory, Tony Law, sales manager of Rotary Technology Partnership, contacted Edale about promoting the business at Indopack – the Indonesian printing, packaging and plastics exhibition held at Jakarta International Expo center.

Supporting Rotary Technology at the show was Edale’s managing director James Boughton, who reported on a successful show with specific trends coming through in the Far East market. There was a strong interest in flexible packaging and short run carton products – applications which are suited to the Edale Gamma fully servo driven flexo press. The heavy duty construction, minimal vibration and high registration accuracy make the Gamma suitable for substrates up to 600 microns, while sophisticated tension controls give delicate and complex materials the stability they require.

Boughton continued: ‘Before heading to the show we were not sure what to expect, having never had any agent support in Indonesia previously, but both Tony and I were pleasantly surprised by the positive reaction that we received to the Edale products, and specifically the enquiries relating to potential packaging machine projects.’

As well as attending Indopack, Boughton travelled around visiting prospective customers in Indonesia with Rotary Technology, before venturing further west to visit a number of potential customers in and around India alongside Edale’s Indian distributor – Printers Supply Company.
