Excell Decor purchases a Xeikon 5000 digital color press
Punch Graphix, through its Xeikon brand, has announced the purchase of a Xeikon 5000 digital color press by Mississauga, Ontario-based Excell Dcor, the largest provider of digitally printed wallcoverings in the world.
No stranger to Xeikon technology, Excell Dcor has been producing various digital color applications on previous generation Xeikon models. The company specializes in producing decorative applications, such as murals and borders, where the unique format size of the Xeikon digital technology - 20" wide and unlimited length - gives it an edge over the competition. In addition, Excell Dcor also produces various packaging, label and advertising applications and provides a range of finishing services to its clients.
Rob Mayerson, VP digital sales-North America, Punch Graphix Americas, said: ‘Excell Dcor's decorative digital color applications have received an extremely positive response from its clients. The company has now invested in a Xeikon 5000, based on its need for higher speed and better quality. With the Xeikon 5000, Excell Dcor is also looking to expand its range of digital color print offerings to outdoor advertising, laminate flooring and packaging prototypes.’
According to Jim Hingley, president, Excell Dcor, ‘We were very impressed with the Xeikon 5000 and its X-800 digital front-end (DFE). Xeikon's web printing technology is unique because it allows continuous imaging with no limitations associated with frames or sheets. No other digital color press on the market has this capability. In addition, the speed, productivity and reliability of the Xeikon 5000 are simply exceptional. The X-800 DFE has been developed with high productivity in mind. It is capable of easily processing complex variable data print applications from over one million records.’
‘Through exceptional print speeds and superior uptime, the Xeikon 5000 will maximize Excell Dcor's productivity. We are happy to be a part of their continued success,’ concludes Rob.
