Entering FINAT’s Label Awards competition 'could help printers through the global recession because the heightened reputation and achievements it brings attract more attention from customers,' claims the self-adhesive industry association.

‘With the economic situation as it is, success could bring with it many more rewards than just the honor but printers will have to enter their best labels in this 29th competition if they are to benefit from the opportunity,’ Tony White, the organizer and chief judge, said.

The Label Awards have been running for 28 years and winners of FINAT’s competition go on to compete for the honor of being acknowledged the world’s best. The judging takes place ahead of FINAT’s annual conference, which this year is being held at Antalya, Turkey on June 10-12, when the award presentations are made.

Launching this year’s event by inviting entries, White said: ‘This is a world showcase for the skills of label printers and they should not underestimate its importance as an aid to business. Under the present circumstances I hope we will receive our heaviest entry ever because the prospect of reward has probably never been higher.’

Full details of the categories and deadlines for entries are available at the FINAT website: www.finat.com.
