FINAT launches new technical tests in latest standards handbook

Two new technical standards – covering wash-off labels and the rub-resistance of printed labels – have been included in FINAT’s latest edition of its Technical Handbook.
This eighth edition unveils the test methods (FTM26 and FTM27) to be adopted for ensuring the best performance of those two functions, along with updates to existing test methods and technical standards.
Hkan Saxn, chairman of the FINAT technical committee, said: ‘We have also made a full review of the handbook. Some sections have been removed; some have been completely re-written; others have only been slightly modified. By removing some sections and shortening others we have tried to keep the handbook as compact as possible, still making sure it contains all relevant and important information.
The handbook is available in English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Turkish and business Mandarin. All FINAT members will receive one free copy of the Technical Handbook in their preferred language. Jacques Lechat, chairman of the test method sub-committee, organized and led the project.
