FINAT reports leap in membership

FINAT, the worldwide trade association for the self adhesive label industry, has seen a leap in membership as it heads for its 50th Anniversary in 2008.
The label association is seeing the benefits of globalization with new members signing up from as far away as Russia, India and Brazil. Currently, membership comprises nearly 500 countries on all five continents
Last month at the label industry’s prestige showcase in Brussels – Labelexpo Europe 2007 – FINAT saw its membership swell and expects this exceed the 500 landmark in the course of 2008, its anniversary year.
Its label membership campaign slogan – Be a FINAT Member – was unveiled at the Labelexpo show.
The campaign highlights the benefits of membership, which includes representation at EU-level on environmental and trade issues; a range of technical and general publications; an intranet site for members only; a platform for industry representatives to meet their counterparts at conferences, seminars and smaller scale meetings, and a range of educational tools and services to support market and management development for its members.
Jan Frederik Vink, FINAT’s recently-appointed president said, ‘With 50 years of service to our industry we are heartened by the new impetus and momentum which surrounds our industry as we prepare for our 50th Anniversary Conference next year in Paris.’
