International Print and Packaging receives AB Graphic HSR 430 slitter/rewinder
AB Graphic International has announced the supply of a 17in-wide HSR 430 slitter/rewinder to International Print and Packaging, Texas to expand the production capabilities at the company’s Liberty Hill facility and improve customer deliveries.
Commenting on the purchase, chief operating officer Simon Diver of International Print and Paper said: ‘We convert a wide range of specialty films and label substrates and with expensive MSI pricing, reduction of set-up waste is critical in supporting corporate initiatives.
'The HSR facilitates job setting and its high throughput has enabled us to reduce waste and improve customer deliveries. The ability to recall specific job settings has also allowed us to improve finished roll tension consistency and quality. This is critical on some of the specialty materials we are converting outside the traditional label market. Our operators also appreciate the easy to use set-up screens and user friendly interface system.’
The HSR is a high-speed slitter inspection rewinder that benefits from larger unwind and rewind diameters, and runs at speeds up to 300m/min.
‘During Labelexpo 2012, we quickly identified AB Graphic International as the supplier of choice for a new technology solution to improve our finishing operation,’ added Diver.
‘We were looking for the ability to convert a wide range of materials and the HSR has met this need. In addition an important factor in the selection process was efficient and fast after-sales support. Our New York facility has been using converting equipment from AB Graphic International and spoke highly of their desire to satisfy its customers. This was clear from the moment the impressively packed machine arrived through to commissioning with the technician staying with us until we were happy for him to leave.’
‘We are delighted in the trust that Gintzler Graphics and International Print and Packaging have placed in us,’ said Wes Harrington of AB Graphic International. ‘We have already installed several finishing lines at the customer’s New York facility.'
