Karlville acquires CEFMA

Karlville Development Group has acquired CEFMA, a manufacturer of tape application equipment based in Lyon, France. Karlville is a supplier of shrink sleeve label application machinery; with this acquisition of CEFMA, Karlville is looking to expand its presence in the packaging industry. Karlville also has a strong presence in the converting machinery industry supplying a full range of shrink sleeve converting, pouch converting, slitting/inspection and lamination machinery.


Established in 1992, CEFMA has developed patented systems for the application of adhesive tape. The CEFMA range of packaging machinery for the food & beverage and consumer goods industries including a range of machines designed to apply adhesive carry-handles to packs of drinks, cartons, bags and other heavy or bulky products. It also produces a line of tape bundling equipment to make small and medium-size multi-packs, a solution that is an economical alternative to fully wrapped packs.


CEFMA will benefit from Karlville's worldwide network and service teams based in North America, South America, Europe and Asia. CEFMA operations will be moved to Karlville's facility in Lyon, France where the two entities will share combined engineering, manufacturing, service and sales operations. At Karlville's Technology Center in France and the US, customers can make comprehensive testing on the latest sleeving – and now CEFMA taping – systems.
