Rotocontrol provides customized solution to New Zealand label printer

New Zealand label printer Panprint has installed an RSC slitter rewinder from Rotocontrol.

Panprint specializes in the production and supply of premium quality labels to the country's wine, food and beverage industries.

Using offset and flexographic printing presses, Panprint offers wet glue and pressure-sensitive labels. It is the most awarded printer in the New Zealand Pride in Print awards achieving 62 gold medals and 132 highly commended accolades to date. 

The RSC installed at Panprint is a customized finishing machine, built with multiple web paths to manage different materials and processes. Special consideration was also given to reducing wasted material.

Features include a vacuum splice table, multiple slitting cartridges, a die-cutting station, separate high capacity unwind and a Nikka Research vision inspection system. In addition, it is integrated with the Rotocontrol DRM semi-automatic turret capable of operating in dual rewind mode as well as turret.

Marco Aengenvoort, managing director of Rotocontrol, was on-site for Panprint’s acceptance of the RSC (pictured, top with Panprint operator Abdia Haricombe and general manager John Lowther, standing on the right).
